The Irene Gibbons Health & Human Services Building at 14 Park Avenue is now open. 
The Caldwell Food Panty, Health Department and Grover Cleveland Senior Center is located within this building. The Caldwell Food Pantry is open on Wednesdays from 11:00am - 1:00pm for participants to shop for food.
New Additional Hours: The Pantry is now also open on Thursday evenings from 4:00pm-6:00pm.

Office Hours:
Monday through Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm.
 
 
 Health Education, Environmental Health, and Animal Control Services
The Caldwell Health Department oversees contracted services provided to the Borough which include:
  • Promotion of health and well-being of the community offered through programming, information, and activities 
  • Communicable and infectious disease investigations and prevention
  • Licensing and inspections of food, massage, day care, and other public establishments to ensure businesses are in compliance with environmental health regulations

Office of Vital Statistics 

Certified Copies of a birth, marriage or death certificate that occurred in Caldwell are available.  To obtain a certified copy, you must fill out an application that is listed under the Municipal Forms section labeled “Vital Statistics”.  The cost for a certified copy is $10 and must accompany the completed form and valid ID. Please note you must have a relationship to the document in order to obtain a certified copy of that document. Application for a Certified Copy of a Vital Record

 

Marriage Applications are done by appointment only.  In order for you to complete the marriage application within the Borough of Caldwell, there is a residency requirement for applicants.  However, if both applicants live outside of the State of New Jersey and the marriage will take place within Caldwell, you would apply in the Borough of Caldwell.  To complete the marriage application, the two applicants must appear in person with a witness who is over the age of 18 with a picture ID.  Both applicants must provide proof of residency and a picture ID.  If someone was married previously, you must show proof of how that marriage was dissolved.  The cost for the license is $28 payable in cash or check.  Please call the Health Department directly to arrange for an appointment at least two weeks before your wedding. Application for a Marriage License

  • Overseen by the Mayor’s Senior Advisory Board
  • Any individual age 60 and over can participate in our programs and services
  • We offer recreation programs for our members such as fitness, enrichment, special presentations, health education, socials, and other events/activities throughout the year.

Senior Transportation: Caldwell – West Caldwell – Roseland 

  • Please call 973-226-5108 between 8:15am and 8:45am on the day you would like to travel on the senior bus
  • Available Monday through Friday from 9:00am – 3:30pm to go food shopping or to the bank, drug store, etc.  On Tuesdays, a special trip is taken to local malls.  Please see the Grover Cleveland Senior Center’s calendar for information regarding special trips.
  • Curb-to-curb service is available to Caldwell, West Caldwell, and Roseland Residents
  • Overseen by the Caldwell, West Caldwell Roseland Senior Transportation Board
