NOTICE TO BIDDERS

                               

NOTICE is hereby given that sealed bids for the RECONSTRUCTION OF FLORENCE PLACE for the BOROUGH OF CALDWELL (OWNER) in the BOROUGH OF CALDWELL, ESSEX COUNTY, NEW JERSEY will be received at THE OFFICE OF THE BOROUGH CLERK, MUNICIPAL BUILDING, 24 SMULL AVENUE, CALDWEL, NJ 07006, ON November 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM prevailing time.

 

The work consists of the reconstruction of Florence Place (600 ft length of existing roadway), including full depth roadway, curb, sidewalk, curb ramp, and driveway apron reconstruction, the removal and replacements of all street trees, and repairs and upgrades to the existing sanitary and storm sewer structure within the limits of the roadway, all in accordance with the form of proposal, contract and specifications prepared by BRIGHT VIEW ENGINEERING. Plans and Specifications have been filed at the office of the BOROUGH CLERK of the BOROUGH OF CALDWELL and may be inspected by prospective bidders at that office during business hours.  Bidders will be furnished with a copy of the Contract Documents, Plans, and Specifications at the office of the BOROUGH CLERK, BOROUGH OF CALDWELL at their offices at 24 SMULL AVENUE, CALDWEL, NJ 07006, on proper notice.  A non-refundable charge of $150.00 per set shall be paid to THE BOROUGH OF CALDWELL.

 

Bidders are notified that they must comply with the New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act (Chapter 150 of the Laws of 1963, as amended) and that award will not be made to any bidder whom the Commissioner of Labor and Industry does not certify.

 

Bids shall be submitted on the forms provided, in the manner designated therein and required by the Specifications.  They must be enclosed in sealed envelopes, bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the BOROUGH OF CALDWELL and must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in the form provided of not less than 10% of the amount of bid.  Said check or bid bond may not be less than $500 nor shall it be more than $20,000 and must be accompanied by a Consent of Surety statement in the form provided from a Surety Company stating that the Surety Company will provide the bidder with a bond for 100% of the Contract amount if the Contract is awarded to the bidder. A Non‑Collusion Affidavit and a Record of Recent Contract Awards must also accompany the proposal on the forms provided.
