Rev. Rodeffer, a retired ordained United Methodist clergywoman, has served full-time as both local church pastor and as district superintendent over the past 39 years in the Greater New Jersey Conference of the United Methodist Church. She retired after ten years as pastor at Caldwell United Methodist Church in June 2023 at which time she and her husband bought and moved into their retirement home here because of their love for this community.
Active in the community, she has served as the chaplain of the West Essex First Aid
Squad for the past ten years; the Co-Convener of the West Essex Ministerial Association which includes Jewish, Christian, and Muslim representation; and she is a member of Kiwanis. In retirement, she works part-time as a Chaplain for Journey Hospice, West Caldwell, NJ.
Her ongoing responsibilities to the Greater New Jersey Annual Conference include serving on the conference Board of Trustees handling all property, real estate, and insurance matters; and as a Board Member on the Centenary Fund, which subsidizes clergy retiree healthcare costs. She also loves her fill-in preaching gigs at various churches!
Prior to entering seminary in 1981, she was Director of Resources and Development for the Bucks County ARC, Doylestown, PA, an organization serving other-abled persons from infancy through retirement.

Personal. Viv and Robert McCombe married after college (1973) and celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in 2023. Daughter Robin (1981) is a substitute teacher here in Caldwell, and Susan (1989) is currently training as a surgical assistant. Susan lives in
Portland, Maine. Robin and her former husband have a 13-year-old son Johnny who attends Eden Autism School in Princeton.
Viv's spouse Robert W. McCombe is retired from McGraw Hill/ Datapro as a Systems Analyst for healthcare software. He managed three camera stores in retirement and is an Air Force veteran.
